Google has updated Android’s battery notification for headphones and earbuds to be a bit more glanceable.
Appearing on initial Bluetooth connection or when the case is open, the old expanded “Devices” notification just displayed the battery icon and percentage level underneath circular images.
This updated design adds a color-coded ring indicator around the images of each component with an icon at the top noting the current status, like if buds are charging within the case. You still get the percentage below with a small label for each item: L(eft), C(ase), and R(ight).
Old vs. new

There are no changes to the compact notification with all percentages displayed in one line.
Overall, this redesign matches how Android 15 QPR2 (on Pixel) introduced the ring design for the Bluetooth Device details page. These updated headphones battery notifications are rolled out with version 25.30.31 of Google Play services over the past few days and should be available for all Android devices.
