Samsung Community is a platform to discuss the brand’s products and services. This is available in the Samsung Members app for Galaxy phones and tablets. This lets users ask queries or complain about any issues they’re facing, share tips and news with other members on the platform. Several users are now reporting a phishing scam that is spreading in the Samsung Members app.
Users of the Samsung Members app become victims of a new scam
While the Samsung Members platform as a whole is safe, scammers are now leveraging the platform to run a scam. Reportedly, scammers have been creating accounts on the Samsung Community lately and sending users phishing messages. Users are reportedly receiving a message that informs users that Samsung has received a complaint about their profile, and the company needs to verify their account. They say this is to prevent issues like account loss, threats, and other illicit activities.
The message asks users to click on the link to verify, but it is actually a malicious link. It says that if they don’t complete the verification within 24 hours, the account will be suspended. The message notes that Samsung may impose a penalty of $500 on the user.

Don’t click any external links in the messages
The malicious links may open a website that resembles the login page of a website you know to steal your credentials. It may also ask you to pay a fine for something or install an app that may be harmful. Scammers may also use your personal data for extortion.
Moderators and users on the platform are warning users about such scams and asking users not to click any external links. They are even asking to report such messages and accounts. On its part, Samsung is deleting such accounts.
