Google’s Swift Fix Ends Pixel 10 App Crash Nightmare

Google has quickly resolved the app-crashing issues that some Pixels have been experiencing. We wrote about this issue yesterday, and now the problem has been resolved thanks to a server-side update.

The Google Pixel 10 app crash nightmare is behind us thanks to a quick fix

The information comes from Arten Russakovskii, who have also experienced the problem. The issue has been hitting the Google Pixel 10 series, and some Google Pixel 9 models. The same was not the case with older Pixels.

In any case, based on what Artem said, multiple Google teams have been pushed to address the issue as soon as possible, and that worked. We’re still not sure what exactly caused the issue, however.

Pretty much everyone guessed that Google Play services are to blame, as reinstalling them fixed the issue, at least temporarily. Users did not have to wait long for a permanent fix, it seems.

Considering this is a server-side update, you don’t have to update anything manually. Google will do the job for you, and chances are that the change has been rolled out to everyone at this point.

This issue affected both Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 users

As a reminder, this bug was crashing apps left and right on Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 devices. That goes for pretty much every app that users had installed on their phones. They’d simply crash and keep crashing when you try to open them.

Needless to say, this was a huge problem for users, as it rendered their phones useless. That prompted Google to flag this as a high-priority problem and fix it soon. It doesn’t get much worse than this when it comes to impaired usability of a product.

Let’s hope something like this won’t happen again, well, at least not with the current-gen devices. Small bugs are one thing, but this is… next level, that’s for sure.
